Llanwrtyd Wells

Llanwrtyd Wells, with a population of about 600,  boasts of being the smallest town in the UK. Its facilities include a health centre, a primary school, a bank, a library, a railway station on the Heart of Wales line between Shrewsbury and Swansea, three gourmet restaurants and an annual food festival. Its more eccentric claim to fame is as the host of the annual International Bog-Snorkelling Competition and the Man versus Horse Race.

The local primary school and the Builth Wells secondary school and sixth form college are highly regarded.

Llanwrtyd Wells is on the A483 between Llanfair-ym-Mualt (also know as Builth Wells) and Llandovery.
